I meant to drop my July empties sooner but my August ones started piling up so I decided to mesh them together. My Fall empties will be coming soon. Let's get to my mini reviews.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original - I have lost count how many of these I have used up over the years. Already repurchased. I must use up at least 1 to 2 of these a year. It's the best eyeshadow primer I can find on the market. Everyone needs this.
L’Occitane Foot Cream (travel size) – Simply the best. Have been using this for 10 years and I love it. Already repurchased full sized version and a travel version. Highly recommend.
The Inkey List Supersolutions 10% Azelaic Acid Serum - This product has been a lifesaver for my rosacea. I have already repurchased. Can't live without it now. This is a must have for anyone with rosacea and the beauty is you can layer it with other serums. I highly recommend using it twice a day for full effectiveness. I am not sure how many of these I have gone through now but I will be buying it likely forever. I have recently bought this product by another brand so I will be reviewing that shortly for you as well.
Sol de Janeiro Rio Deo Refill in Cheirosa 59 Fragrance - I quite like this deodorant and have gone through a few of these already. I am starting to get confused with all of the scents. I think I like the original one the best. This scent was one of my least favourites. The refills never seem to sit right in the containers and the temporary lids are awful. All that being said, I do like this product and have repurchased. I wouldn't say it is workout appropriate, you would need something stronger but it's great for day to day.
AOA Studio Super Soft PawPaw Wonder Blender - I don't care what anyone says, these sponges are far inferior to the Beautyblender. I don't find these to be as porous as the Beautyblender and therefore product tends to sit on top of the sponge and slide around more. You don't get as good of a blend. Also, I find these dry weird and can get moldy after a bit which I never had happen with the Beautyblender. Since I bought a bag of 6 I will use them up but then it's back to spending good money on Beautyblenders again and I am ok with that. Slowly, I am getting through this bag of 6 and I am looking forward to the end of them.
Grown Alchemist Body Cream in Mandarin, Rosemary Leaf - I got this in a subscription box awhile back and later bought another one for only $8 which is this one. As time has passed I don't find this to be as good as I thought it was but it was not bad. I have gotten sick of the smell and it doesn't moisturize as much as I would like so won't repurchase unless I can get it dirt cheap.
Cerave Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser (Removes Makeup) - This was by far one of my best finds back in 2023. The fact that it is easy to get (any drug store) and is reasonably priced is fantastic. This cleanser is very hydrating, gentle, does not play with my skin barrier and removes my makeup including stubborn eye makeup! Makes my skin so clean! I tend to use this only at night but I think you could use it in the morning too if you want. All of these things being said, I am not planning to repurchase, as there is an ingredient in it that I prefer not to use and I only recently discovered this.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in Iced Coffee - I got a mini set of 4 of these lip butter balms last Fall during the Sephora sale and Iced Coffee was one of them. I liked the mini so much I bought the full size and I have now finished it as you can see. I really like Summer Fridays lip butter balms and although I wished they lasted longer on the lips, I think they are one of the best lip balms you can get on the market. I have already repurchased a few new minis and regular sized tubes in various scents. I will likely purchase Iced Coffee again, but I am taking a break from the scent for a bit.
Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme - This was a mini I got as a sample. I used it when I went on weekend getaways and it lasted forever. It was very moisturizing, but not sure if it brightened my eye area or did anything else. I don't have an issue with wrinkles around my eyes so not sure this was the best product for me. This product is crazy expensive so that mixed with I didn't notice much difference in my eye area, will not have me repurchasing this product.
Bushbalm Dark Spot Oil in Bermuda - I think I had this bottle maybe the last 3 years? I mainly used it when I went on beach holidays and am sorry to report I never used it consistently so I can't give a full review per se. I do think it does help with any areas you wax or shave in terms of avoiding skin issues in those areas but how much it helps I am not sure. I have repurchased this product though so will keep you updated.
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Full Coverage Color Correcting Foundation with SPF 50+ - Another tube done. I really like this foundation as it is full coverage, covers all my redness and the SPF makes it a good choice for the summer especially. It gives a nice, glowy finish. I always buy the shade “Light” but I find it is really yellow and taupe on me but it hides redness like nobody’s business. I find the yellow and taupe hues fade quickly and blends into the skin so it’s ok. I have found a new shade that works better although it is not perfect. Will report back on this soon.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Pink Evolution Powder - This powder took me forever to finish and I certainly got my money's worth. I must have used it constantly for over a year. I bought it when the Givenchy undereye powder was discontinued with the original formula. It is not as good as that I am sorry to say. This powder got the job done and worked very well under the eye. I did think it got drier as I used up the container and didn't look as good as it originally did near the end. I was in a rush to finish it for that reason. I would consider repurchasing, but there are so many other fantastic undereye powders now on the market that I think I may be able to do better. We will see. I will also mention that I had to cut the mesh out of the jar to get the last of the powder out of there as I tried everything else to get it out unsuccessfully.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Eye Cream - This was a mini I got as a sample. I really don't like Caudalie eye creams nor serums and this one was meh as well. I really don't see or feel it doing anything for me. No plans to purchase this in the future.
Ren Clean Skincare Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum - Ren has gone out of business so I decided to use up all of my Ren products as I have previously mentioned. This was a great anti-redness serum. One of the best I ever tried and it worked well under make-up. I would repurchase, but can't. This was a mini.
Innisfree Green Tea Seed Hyraluronic Cream - I got this in a set of Innisfree products and this is the one I liked the least. It's ok but I didn't feel like my skin really loved it and it was very mid compared to my other face creams. This was a small jar containing 20ml. Will not repurchase.
Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment - I have repurchased this already because I liked it, but not sure I love it. I do like that you can use it as an eye mask and the product soaks right in. It makes my eye area feel nice. It does nothing for my dark circles though and I think after jar #2 I may try something else. This was the smaller jar 14ml and I repurchased the same.
it Cosmetics Superhero Mascara - I was so mad at myself for saving this tube for so long. This is one of my favourite mascaras and with this being a travel sized tube, I saved it for a trip. I opened it up as I was packing for a cruise recently and it was bone dry. Unusable. So this is really trash not an empty.
Aveda Scalp Solutions - I actually really liked this product and it's a shame it's so expensive. In recent years, I get a dry scalp in winter and this fixes the problem. It smells nice and is not overpowering at all. I like to use it when my hair has been freshly washed and even in between washes for extra scalp hydration. The product will not grease up your hair.
MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencil Eyeliner in Skip the Waitlist - This quickly became my favourite brown eyeliner ever. It was also the most quickly used up eyeliner I've ever gone through as a result. I wear this to work alot as it's easy and goes with everything. The colour stays true and doesn't smudge easily. Already repurchased in this colour and another colour.
MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Prussian - I used to love this eyeliner. It was one of my favourites as you can see as I used up almost all of it. What is left of the pencil has gone dry and crumbly. I can't use it any longer sadly. The colour also appears to be discontinued so that sucks.
That's it for now. My empties are piling up again so hopefully I'll get another post up soon.
